Match point for EUC Tennis 2023

The European Universities Tennis Championship 2023 has finally concluded on July 9 with an exciting Closing Ceremony at the Royal Tennis Society of Granada. 

Over 110 participants from 23 Universities from 13 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

During the 6 days of competition matches, athletes gave their maximum to reach the wanted victories and results, giving their best sportsmanship, fairplay and showing great tennis skills in the heat of Granada. 

In men’s finals, the title of champion/s went to the University of Bordeaux (FRA) who won a thrilling final match against the University of Zurich (SUI).

In women’s finals, the title of champion/s went to the University of Grenoble Alpes (FRA)  who won an exciting final match against the University of Geneva (SUI).

The medals and awards were presented by Mr. Miguel Martinez, President of the Royal Society Tennis of Granada, Mr. Juan Luis Benitez, Vice-rector for Student Services and Campus Life of the University of Granada and Mr. Liviu Matac, EUSA Auditor and SCAC Chair.

23 European Universities had the honour to compete in Granada during the European Universities Tennis Championship. They have lived a thrilling and exciting week of competition in which culture and sport went hand by hand. The competition concluded on July 9 when the finals were played, and the Awarding and Closing Ceremonies were held. We hope the teams have spent the loveliest week in Granada and we hope we can meet them back soon.

Using the opportunity of this years Tennis Championship, Ms Sara Rozman, EUSA Education and Development Manager and Technical Delegate for Tennis, Mr Michael Sikorski met with representatives of the Organizing Committee of EUC Tennis 2025. Mr Diogo Salgado Braz, FADU Vice President in Mr Diogo Jorge Lopes representative of AAC/University of Coimbra. 

The next Championship in Tennis will take place in Coimbra, Portugal  from 29th of June to 5th of July 2025 and all teams are warmly welcomed to join.

Tennis will be also featured as of the sports present at the European Universities Games in Debrecen-Miskolc next year, so in that honour the EUSA Flag was passed to Ms Bagyi Kinga, representative of University of Debrecen.
